Imagine feeling immense hunger, being unable to buy food, and not knowing where your next meal would come from. Now, imagine experiencing such things during the holiday season. These are feelings that some of the families in Prince William County are experiencing far too often and it is truly a tragedy.

The Hunger Resource Center at Northern Virginia Family Service was created to combat this concerning issue by providing almost 600 families in our community with food assistance and strategies for purchasing nutritious food on a budget. With the holidays around the corner, the HRC even has a Holiday Giving program that focuses on providing thanksgiving meals to over 1,200 families through “Operation Turkey”, and by ensuring that more than 2,200 children get a gift or gift card around Christmas through “Gifting for Families”.
